Montgomery Middle School Science
This year your student will engage in hands-on learning experiences as the delve into the world of science! From our class discussions to the various experiments throughout the year, all students will improve their knowledge base and with hope, develop a passion for science and the world around us!
The MMS Science Department is dedicated to providing your children with a quality education that inspires creativity and critical thinking!
Students will learn the basics of laboratory safety and how to use laboratory equipment properly. The completion of this section gives us the tools we need to begin experiments!
Lab Safety and Procedures
Atoms, Molecules, and the Periodic Table
Students will learn that atoms are the building blocks of matter. They will also learn the difference between atoms and molecules. Students will study the periodic table including the essential elements.
Students will be able to identify and describe key characteristics of the earth's layers and of the layers of the atmosphere. Then students will study the history and process of plate tectonics to discover how our earth is changed in response.
Layers of the Earth, Atmosphere, and Plate Tectonics
